Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clear, concise written and spoken English.
• Willingness to participate in training/pro development as directed.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Capable of performing essential functions with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Works with individuals and/or small groups under supervision of a classroom teacher or administrator.
• Checks papers and monitors student progress.
• Operates office machines and may do some typing.
• Prepares and arranges materials for the day's instruction.
• Assists in supervising recreational, outdoor, and free-time activities including field trips.
• Performs classroom duties such as attendance, collecting money, and scheduling parent-teacher conferences.
• Monitors groups of pupils to allow teachers to perform other duties.
• Uses computer programs to assist students, singly or in small groups.
• Substitutes for teachers in emergencies.
• Demonstrates confidentiality of student information.
