Job summary

District Wide is seeking an Instructional Aide to support teachers in instructional activities and classroom management at Hondo ISD. This role requires direct supervision by teachers and a focus on student engagement and learning support.

The successful candidate will assist with reading, writing, and math instruction, supervise students throughout the day, and help prepare instructional materials and reports.

Qualifications

• Must have secondary school diploma or GED and meet one of the listed qualifications.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate is required.
• Bilingual ability is highly preferred and beneficial for classroom support.
• Experience assisting in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction of students under direct supervision of teacher.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Monitor and supervise students inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom and play areas.
• Help with administration and scoring of objective tests and required reports.
• Maintain inventory and orderly classroom, and assist substitutes when needed.
