Job summary

Verde Law, PLLC in Miami focuses on defending immigrants and their families in removal proceedings before EOIR, including asylum, cancellation of removal, bond matters, Cuban Adjustment Act issues, and appeals. Our practice serves clients at their most vulnerable moments with clear, compassionate guidance.

We seek a J.D. with an active license (Florida Bar preferred) who is fluent in English and Spanish, and has immigration removal defense experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license in good standing in any U.S. state (Florida Bar preferred, not required).
• Fluent in English and Spanish, spoken and written; nearly all client communication is in Spanish.
• Immigration law experience that includes removal proceedings before EOIR, at any level: clinic, fellowship, nonprofit, or private practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients before EOIR in master calendar, individual, and bond hearings, including detained clients.
• Develop case strategy and legal theories for removal defense and humanitarian relief.
• Prepare clients and witnesses to testify; conduct direct and cross-examination.
• Draft motions, briefs, and memoranda; manage filing deadlines and ECAS.
• Negotiate with OPLA and ICE counsel on prosecutorial discretion and bond.
• Handle BIA appeals and support federal court matters.
