Job description

Remote Immigration Attorney Must be bilingual in Spanish/English and have at least one year of experience as an attorney in family, removal, and immigration legal defense to be considered for this position. We are seeking an attorney who can provide quality legal services to our large, diverse client base. Our ideal candidate will work passionately and effectively alongside our senior partners and staff to ensure a successful outcome for clients. Our San Jose office is actively seeking a zealous, competent, and motivated attorney who is English-Spanish bilingual and can support us seamlessly while working remotely. Responsibilities: • Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs • Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks • Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action • Take responsibility for administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients and completing tasks • Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution • Appear in court on behalf of clients and argue motions during legal proceedings • Represent clients before DHS, EOIR, and DOS in family immigration, naturalization, U visa, asylum, I-751 waivers, VAWA matters, consular processing, 212(h), 212(i), I-212, unlawful presence, and provisional waivers. • Represent clients before the Immigration Courts and BIA in removal defense, all applications for immigration relief, criminal removal matters, custody and bond hearings, and contested removal cases. • Prepare declarations, legal briefs, and letter briefs. • Conduct client intake and consultations. Personally appear with clients before USCIS and the Immigration Courts in San Jose, San Francisco, and occasionally in Southern and Central California. • Maintain Reports on Client Caseload. • Participate in community know-your-rights meetings. Qualifications: • Ability to use Microsoft Office is required • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role • Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision • Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required • Over 1 year of experience representing clients in a law firm • Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus • The ideal candidate will possess: J.D. from ABA certified law school with current Bar Membership in good standing. (Preferably California Bar). • At least one year of experience as an attorney in family, removal, and immigration legal defense.Bilingual English-Spanish (written and spoken). • A demonstrated commitment to immigrants' and civil rights issues. • Outstanding interpersonal and advocacy skills, both oral and written. • A strong desire to advance and grow professionally within the Firm and in the immigration legal community. • Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage a busy caseload. • Proficiency in INSZoom or other immigration platforms is a plus. Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 yearly

Compensation:
$75,000-$90,000 per year
