Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an experienced immigration attorney for a fully on-site Alexandria, VA position. You will independently manage cases from strategy through resolution and represent clients at court hearings, handling family-based petitions and humanitarian relief matters with a focus on high-stakes outcomes.

The role requires a JD and active license in good standing, bilingual English and Spanish, and 5+ years of immigration law experience including Immigration Court work.

Qualifications

  • JD and active license in good standing in any U.S. state.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • 5+ years of immigration law experience for mid-level consideration.
  • Substantial recent Immigration Court and removal-defense experience.
  • Strong background in family-based and humanitarian immigration matters.
  • Ability to independently manage client consultations, case strategy, and high-stakes matters.
  • Excellent judgment, writing, communication, and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage immigration matters from initial strategy through resolution.
  • Represent clients at Master Calendar Hearings, bond hearings, and Individual Hearings in Immigration Court.
  • Handle family-based petitions, humanitarian relief matters, removal-defense cases, and related USCIS proceedings.
  • Meet directly with clients to evaluate options, explain risks, and develop effective case strategies.
  • Draft and review motions, briefs, filings, responses, and other substantive legal work.
  • Adjust case strategy when circumstances, evidence, agency decisions, or procedural developments change.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive, clear, and compassionate communication.
  • Senior attorneys will lead consultations, provide strategic guidance, and help develop other attorneys on the team.
