Job summary

The Hmong English Interpreter, Translator & Trainer at the University of Wisconsin–Madison provides language services including oral interpretation and written translation to university departments, employees, managers, and supervisors. The role supports translation coordination and administrative tasks within Cultural Linguistic Services, collaborating across campus.

Hybrid position with some evenings/nights required and some on-site work at a campus location.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in both Hmong and English languages.
• Experience providing translation and interpretation in Hmong-English.
• Training and/or teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with internal and external groups to assess and evaluate employees' interpretation needs.
• Provides interpretation services to employees, managers, and supervisors to support the communication of employment materials in requested languages.
• Collaborates with internal and external groups to assess and evaluate employees' translation needs.
• Supports translation coordination and other CLS projects and related administrative tasks.
• Develops and facilitates team educational workshops, resources, and materials for individuals and the organization.
• Provides translation services to communicate employment materials in requested languages.
