Latino Network in Portland is seeking a part-time Garden Extended-day Instructor to support SUN Community School. You will lead garden activities for students, plan lessons, and ensure safe, engaging experiences after school hours.

The role emphasizes bilingual communication, teamwork, and a commitment to educational equity, with flexible evenings and weekends as needed to support program goals.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) and ability to communicate with families and students.
• Experience planning and leading educational or recreational activities for youth.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and oral communication required.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Act as a positive role-model for students ages 6-14.
• Plan and lead garden classes using approved resources.
• Support program operations including recess and meals.
• Follow SUN Manager guidelines to provide safe classes.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by SUN Manager.
• Attend quarterly trainings with SUN Garden Coordinator.
• Support garden workshops and family events.
