Job summary

Premier Rental Purchase of Hartford is seeking a delivery technician to install delivered merchandise and manage deliveries, service calls, and merchandise retrieval from customers' homes. You will safeguard company assets and communicate consistently while operating company vehicles per policy.

The role requires English and Spanish language skills, a high school diploma, a valid driver's license with a clean record, strong communication, and physical fitness to lift up to 75 pounds in a dynamic

Responsibilities

• Keep backroom and assigned company vehicle clean; assist receiving new merchandise and stocking showroom.

• Must be able to lift and carry loads up to seventy-five (75) pounds. We deliver furniture and appliances, you must be physically fit for this job.

General Purpose:

Responsible for proper installation of delivered merchandise. Responsible for deliveries, service calls, and retrieval of merchandise from customers' residence. Safeguards company assets. Maintains a constant level of communication, and operate our vehicles per policy.

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for deliveries, service calls, and returns in a timely and professional manner.
• Responsible for safeguarding all monies collected while in the field.
• Responsible for the proper care and movement of all merchandise in transport.
• Maintain rented units by making minor repairs to inventory, as well as sterilization and product respect.
• Carefully check returns upon pick up and promptly refurbish to "like new" condition.
• Handles customer issues in a professional manner.

Other Duties:

• Responsible for cleanliness of the backroom and the assigned company vehicle.
• Responsible for helping receive new merchandise.
• Responsible for cleaning and stocking showroom

Required Skills:

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to reason and make independent decisions.
• Ability to manage situations with customers and associates.
• After training, working knowledge of all products.

Efforts, Demands, and Conditions:

Work is performed in changing environments. Considerable walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting are involved.

• Must be able to cope with the emotional and mental stress associated with dealing with people and situations.
• Required to use a hand truck to move merchandise. Work is normally performed in the store, in the field, and in customers' homes. In the field, a variety of conditions may be encountered, including moving merchandise in wide-open spaces, level spaces, across dirt, icy, or uneven surfaces such as gravel. Stairs, wet or slippery surfaces, narrow doorways, etc. may be encountered. Requires driving in various weather conditions as well as exposure to heat, cold, dust, and other uncontrollable conditions.
