Job summary

Premier Rental Purchase of Hartford is seeking a motivated store associate to assist customers, manage cash, and protect inventory at our Hartford location. You’ll engage with bilingual customers, perform basic math, and follow cash-handling procedures to ensure accuracy and security.

The role requires physical activity including lifting up to 75 pounds, driving may be involved, and compliance with company policies. Training is provided to help you succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must have English and Spanish language skills.
• High school diploma required (no GED).
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Strong communication and math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for protecting store property and following proper inventory procedures.
• Handle all cash and monetary transactions with accuracy and integrity.
• Administer store policies and procedures consistently.
• Accurately report all company transactions.
• Help increase store business and maintain customer accounts.
• Ensure weekly Vehicle Maintenance Reports are completed.

Requirements:

Must be able to speak in English and Spanish.

• Must be able to lift and carry loads up to seventy-five (75) pounds. We deliver furniture and appliances, you must be physically fit for this job.

Specific Duties:

• Responsible for the protection of all store property including the proper in/out procedures for inventory, proper documentation and verification of order forms, daily walk-through, and proper use of store alarm.


• Responsible for all monies received by the store and an associate in the field including proper cash handling and control procedures.


• Responsible for the administration of all company policies and procedures in the store.


• Responsible for the accurate reporting of all company transactions.


• Responsible for the increase of store business and maintaining of stores' non-renewed account standards.


• Ensures that Vehicle Maintenance Reports are performed on a weekly basis.

You must be able to learn, retain and apply everything you are taught. Rent to own is not rocket science, the tasks you will be taught are not tough to understand or perform, but you must be able to learn them, remember them, and apply them. We have a robust system to teach you what you need to know to be an effective member of the team.

Efforts, Demands, and Conditions:

Work is performed in changing environments. Walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting are involved. Due to the nature of the business, you must determine alternate solutions and deal with the pressures of multiple activities and changes.

• Must be able to cope with the emotional and mental stress associated with dealing with people and situations.


• Required to use a hand truck to move merchandise.


• Work to ensure you and your team use company vehicles per company policy.
