Job description

Our Rehabilitation Department is looking for a self-motivated individual to join their team as a Rehabilitation Specialist. Reporting to the Montreal office Rehabilitation Associate Manager, you will have a caseload primarily composed of files in Montreal and that will support the national rehabilitation team.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Developing, monitoring and implementing innovative and goal-oriented functional rehabilitation strategies for claimants in receipt of disability benefits.

  2. Contributing to the overall profitability of Group Disability by facilitating more timely return to work for claimants.

  3. Work with Policyholders to develop creative return to work solutions.

  4. Budget management.

  5. Provide effective communication to policy holders and members, and various medical professionals.

  6. Vendor Management: ensuring the most effective and efficient treatments are available to our claimants.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Extensive functional rehabilitation experience or several years active rehabilitation experience.

  2. Sound knowledge of Rehabilitation Industry Standards, Disability Insurance and medical terminology, and Disability and Rehabilitation management best practices.

  3. Bilingual (French & English) is required - The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

  4. Solid Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  5. Experience managing budgets in a professional setting.

  6. Valid driver's license and car is required to travel to various locations.

  7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize when case loads may be large and complex.

  8. Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.

  9. Ability to make difficult decisions which may have significant impact on claimants.

  10. Proven problem solving skills.

  11. Strength in working independently and in a cohesive team environment.

  12. Accuracy and attention to detail.

  13. Proven analytical, and organizational skills.

  14. Demonstrated ability to think of creative solutions to rehabilitation problems.

  15. Interest in helping others make gainful return to employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Related University degree, preference will be given to those candidates with Health Sciences related education.

  2. Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) and/or Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CCRC) eligibility would be an asset.

  3. Completion of related Insurance Industry courses would be an asset.

Primary Location: CAN, Quebec - Full Time Remote

Working Arrangement: Remote

Salary range is expected to be between: $51,375.00 CAD - $85,625.00 CAD
