Job summary

Legacy Community Health in Houston is seeking a Bilingual Front Office Clerk Lead to be the heart of the clinic's first impression, greeting patients and directing calls. You will support intake, maintain accurate data, and contribute to a smooth patient flow throughout the day.

You will collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure exceptional patient care, while adhering to safety protocols and ongoing training. This role offers growth within a mission-driven community health organization.

Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task and handle many incoming calls or patients.
  • Efficient and accurate data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and route to the appropriate department.
  • Conduct client intake and inform staff of arrival.
  • Accurately enter patient information into databases.
  • Adhere to appointment scheduling and cash handling procedures.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures with precision.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Assist in training and developing staff to ensure team growth.
  • Monitor patient flow and collaborate with management for staffing needs.
  • Handle escalated customer service issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Contribute to special projects to improve clinic operations.
  • Evaluate staff performance for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Review provider schedules for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage office supply levels and maintain a respectful workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls and efficiently route them to the appropriate department.
  • Conduct client intake and inform the relevant staff of the client's arrival promptly.
  • Accurately enter patient information into our databases.
  • Adhere to appointment scheduling and cash handling procedures.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures with precision.
  • Participate actively in the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Assist in training and developing staff to ensure team growth.
  • Monitor patient flow and collaborate with management for staffing needs.

  • Follow exposure control plans to ensure a safe environment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the clinic team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual required.
  • Pleasant, professional phone voice.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle many incoming calls or patients.
  • Efficient and accurate data-entry skills.
  • Computer literacy and multi-line phone or switchboard experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge such as basic math, alphabetical or numerical filing may also be required.
  • Must manage multiple deadlines and decision making responsibilities.
  • Physical demands include frequent sitting and talking, occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to infectious waste and moderate to loud noise levels.
