Children's Council of SF is hiring a Family Services Specialist II (Bilingual English/Spanish) in San Francisco. The role supports low-income families by evaluating eligibility for childcare subsidies, guiding families through program requirements, and connecting them with community resources.

The position requires bilingual fluency, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to equity. Work is in the Compliance and Program Supports department under the Family Services Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish required for client communication.
• Knowledge of San Francisco community resources and Child Development Programs.
• Familiarity with California Department of Education programs.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and organizations.
• Passion for early childhood development, social justice and family empowerment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Occasional evenings and/or weekends may be required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date client records for subsidized childcare caseload.
• Assign families to programs and manage workloads.
• Counsel families on quality childcare and early education options.
• Provide information and referrals to community resources.
• Coordinate timely payments and authorizations with staff.
• Attend parent appeal hearings and support actions.
• Meet Department standards for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain organized, confidential work environment.
• Lead or participate in capacity-building workgroups.
• Collaborate on client services, workshops, and events.
• Attend required meetings and professional development.
