Job summary

Homes for the Homeless seeks a Family Programs Coordinator for our Staten Island facility to oversee family engagement and supervise a dedicated team. You will help run a K–12 recreation program and coordinate events that support youth development and family well-being.

The role requires a degree, supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, with a focus on compliant, high-quality program delivery.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree required.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Experience leading activities with children, teens and adults.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs for children and families, including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and educational offerings.
• Collaborate with internal departments and community partners to plan, organize, and promote special events and workshops.
• Create, manage, and maintain a comprehensive event schedule that offers age-appropriate and inclusive options for participants with varied interests and abilities.
• Oversee staff scheduling and prepare agendas for staff meetings to support effective communication and operations.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, conduct program evaluations, and prepare regular reports for management review.
• Recruit, hire, train, and support staff to ensure high-quality program delivery.
• Manage a K–12 recreation program with a strong focus on youth development and participant engagement.
• Actively participate in required training sessions, staff meetings, and organizational events.
• Partner with the HR team to ensure all personnel files are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Ensure compliance with OCFS and DOH regulations, standards, and guidelines.
