Job summary

Casa Esperanza, Inc. seeks a Facilities Specialist to keep all properties safe, clean, and accessible, and to manage maintenance with outside vendors. You’ll support the Operations Manager, handle work orders, and oversee safety and equipment operation across multiple sites.

The role requires 3–5 years in building maintenance, HVAC/electrical/plumbing knowledge, and bilingual English/Spanish ability. A valid MA driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing repairs.
• Maintenance, sanitation and landscaping system skills.
• Strong computer skills incl. MS Office/Outlook/databases.
• Effective communication with directors, contractors, staff.
• Experience in residential treatment or supportive housing preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• At least 2 years of building repairs experience.
• Must meet physical requirements.
• Training requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs, maintenance, and landscaping.
• Ensure quality/complete work by vendors and contractors.
• Update Operations Manager on building conditions and systems.
• Process work orders; dispatch and complete promptly.
• Maintain appearance and safety of common areas and equipment.
• Operate and supervise safety of all maintenance machinery.
• Manage inventory of supplies.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and train maintenance staff.
• Participate in property inspections and respond to findings.
• Provide 24-hour emergency maintenance coverage.
• Place purchase orders with approval and submit receipts.
• Attend property management meetings and report as directed.
• Monitor cleaning staff and ensure hallways are clear.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance per plan (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Inspect for pest issues and ensure lights function.
• Report damages to Director of Operations.
• Oversee landscaping, snow removal, and grounds maintenance.
• Handle unit turnovers including cleaning and repairs.
