Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Inc. seeks a Lead ESL Youth Development Professional to support ESL and non-English-speaking families, assist with enrollment, and translate materials for accessibility.

The role also involves guiding youth programs, supervising staff and volunteers, and ensuring a safe, inclusive club environment. The position is part-time in South Dakota, with afternoon hours during the school year and summer availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in education, youth development, social work, or related field preferred.
• Experience with youth, especially in educational or after-school settings, is desirable.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language commonly spoken by ESL families is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist ESL and non-English-speaking families with Club orientation and enrollment.
• Provide direct support to ESL members to ensure a positive Club experience.
• Translate Club materials, including signage, newsletters, flyers, incident reports, and communications.
• Update and translate signage so it is accessible to all members.
• Provide translation during parent meetings and communicate with ESL families.
• Lead and supervise assigned Youth Development Professionals and volunteers.
• Ensure programs align with the Club’s goals and meet youth needs.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and support staff training and events.
