Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Bilingual/ESL Teacher Assistant for grades K-5 to support classroom instruction and daily operations at an on-campus location. The role includes preparing instructional materials, assisting with testing, maintaining orderly classrooms, supervising students, and supporting staff with records and reports.

A high school diploma or TX aide certificate is required, with preference for relevant experience and a commitment to ongoing professional

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or USA equivalency; Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment; Valid Texas educational aide certificate
• Six months of knowledge and skills through work experience or training for teacher assistants is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of child growth/development and behavior
• Ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups
• Willingness to stay current with developments in the profession

Responsibilities

• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
