Qualifications

• Education: diploma or GED required; alternative higher learning can substitute.
• Experience with children preferred; training in instructional support.
• Ability to assist with reading, writing and math instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under teacher direction; work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Maintain records and report progress to parents and staff.
• Support substitute teachers and supervise students as needed.
• Guide independent or remedial student work and monitor progress.
