Job summary

Vaughn Next Century Learning Center seeks an English Learner Program Paraprofessional to support EL students across Pandaland campus. You will translate between English and Spanish, assist with instructional activities, and help monitor progress under the supervision of the Curriculum Coordinator and EL Program Director.

The role emphasizes bilingual communication, confidentiality, and collaboration with families to promote student success in a diverse urban school setting in California.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• 48 semester or 60 quarter units OR pass a pre-employment test at 70% or better.
• Read, write and speak Spanish and English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to EL students in classrooms, pull-out or other learning environments.
• Translate English-to-Spanish to support learning experiences for students.
• Communicate with families and monitor student progress; support teachers and staff.
• Administer and assist with annual ELPAC testing and related tasks.
• Build home–school relationships and assist with progress discussions.
