Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking English Learner/Migrant Temporary/Hourly Employees for project-based work in Omaha, Nebraska. Positions are part-time, non-exempt, hourly, and vary by assignment.

Duties include supporting migrant education programs, interpretation, and parent engagement under supervision of building principals or department supervisors. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Additional education requirements may be required dependent upon position/project.
• Must have own transportation.
• A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Excellent communication skills oral and written in English and other languages.
• Positive interpersonal skills.
• This individual will exhibit skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community.
• Willing to work with English Learner parents as specific job requires.

Responsibilities

• If interpreting, must be able to express self orally and in writing in English and designated other language.

• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal or other Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
