Responsibilities

• Conducts Job Readiness Training monthly in Jamestown and Dunkirk.
• Provide retention and follow-up services to participants.
• Monitor and report attendance and compliance; take action as needed.
• Complete required data entry and participant files.

BASIC FUNCTION:

• Responsible for orientating, assessing, and case managing public assistance recipients speaking English and/or Spanish for Self-Sufficiency Center programs. Conducts individual appointments, group orientations, and program participant services for Self-Sufficiency Center programs in English and/or Spanish for all service delivery locations in accordance with program schedules.

WORK PERFORMED:

1. 1. Conducts individual appointments, group orientations, and program participant services for Self-Sufficiency Center programs in all service delivery locations in accordance with program appointment and orientation schedules.
2. 2. Assesses and assigns program participants to Work Experience Program assignments.
3. 3. Assist program participants with vocational goals, employment barriers, and necessary supportive services.
4. 4. Assist program participants in résumé development, employment application, job searching, vocational goal development, work habits, and work ethic.
5. 5. Conducts Job Readiness Training Program sessions on a monthly basis, following prescribed curriculum and schedule, in all service delivery locations (Jamestown and Dunkirk).
6. 6. Responsible for providing retention and follow-up services to program participants.
7. 7. Monitors and reports all program participant attendance and compliance/non-compliance and takes appropriate action, including conciliations when necessary.
8. 8. Completes all required data entry.
9. 9. Maintains appropriate and required program participant files.
10. 10. Completes and submits reports to program management as required.
11. 11. Exercises flexibility in assisting other Self-Sufficiency Center staff.
12. 12. Cross-trains with other Self-Sufficiency Center staff to insure flexibility and service delivery.
13. 13. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related area.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• One year human services or social work experience. Master's degree in above-mentioned areas will be accepted in lieu of experience.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Social awareness, record keeping, world of work, job market, knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and human service agencies in the area, computer proficiency, oral and written communication skills, employment preparation skills, and area industries, area social service, and health agencies, fluently bilingual in English and Spanish.

CERTIFICATION(S)/LICENSE(S) REQUIRED

• Valid driver's license and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
