Job summary

Rochester Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated professional to help individuals prepare for and obtain employment in the community. You will run job readiness activities, assist with resume writing and interview coaching, and coordinate with schools, employers, and one-stop centers to support placement and retention.

The role requires documentation, billing, and active participation in team meetings to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelors in Human Services, Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Associates degree with two years experience in employment and counseling or a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor or Practitioner.
• Experience in Welfare to Work services; One-Stop, ACCESS-VR, OMH and OPWDD contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Imparts agency philosophy of Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential to children, families, program staff and community resources.
• Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families.
• Supervises program staff, outcomes and monitoring reports, billing and contract benchmarks; provides leadership and coaching.
• Provides vocational and career counseling and assists consumers in developing an individual goal plan and monitors progress.
• Provides participants with individual job placement and retention assistance including resume writing, interviewing, and job search tools and strategies.
• Develops and maintains relationships with local educational and training institutions, employers, one-stop centers and community stakeholders.
• Documents all visits and work, achieving productivity standards with contracts and goals.
• Collaborates with departments to meet participant needs.
• Completes monthly billing reports for delivered services and submits to Finance.
• Participates in conferences, workshops, and meetings to enhance skills and development.
• Adheres to agency policies and department guidelines.

Job description

Salary: $22.00 - $24.00 per hourEmployment; Full Time, 37.50hrs/ week, Monday through Friday

Purpose: Using a person-centered approach, assist consumers with preparing and seeking successful employment in the community. Responsible for working across all vocational and employment programs by providing a wide range of vocational/career planning activities including: job readiness soft skills workshops, career and vocational assessments, skill development and career advancement activities, worksite tours, job placement and retention supports and coaching. Coordinates with local educational and training institutions, businesses and one-stop center. Engages with Management team on strategic planning initiatives and billing.

Essential Functions

• 3. Supervises program staff, outcomes and monitoring reports, billing and contract benchmarks. Assist direct reports in successful accomplishment of identified key functions and goals by providing needed resources, leadership and coaching.
• 4. Provides vocational and career counseling and assist consumers in developing an individual goal plan and monitors progress and assist with addressing identified barriers as needed.
• 5. Provides participants with individual job placement and retention assistance. This could include: resume writing, interviewing, job search tools and strategies, job referrals, job/internship development and retention/job coaching supports.
• 6. Develops and maintains relationships with local educational and training institutions, employers, businesses, one-stop centers and key community stakeholders.
• 7. Provides proper documentation of all recorded visits and work done and achieves established productivity standards in conjunction with applicable program contracts, goals and objectives.
• 8. Works collaboratively within the department and with other internal departments to foster effective working relationships to ensure that participants needs are met.
• 9. Completes monthly billing reports for delivered services. Review direct reports billing documents and complete monthly billing spreadsheet for submission to Finance Department.
• 10. Participate in conferences, workshops, department meetings and in-service trainings as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
• 11. Adheres to agencys policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.

Education, Experience, Skills and/or Licensing/Certification Required

• A Masters degree or Bachelors degree in Human Services, Business, Marketing or related field is preferred.
• Or, Associates degree with two years experience in employment and counseling or a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor or Practitioner.
• Experience in providing services within Welfare to Work. One-Stop, ACCESS-VR, OMH and OPWDD contracts preferred.
