Job summary

Hillsborough County Public Schools seeks a full‑time Bilingual Spanish Aide to support English Language Learners at Folsom Elementary in Thonotosassa, FL. Under supervision, you will help with testing, instruction in heritage language, and parent outreach.

You will translate communications, assist with records, and collaborate with ELL staff to ensure program compliance and effective student support. Prior ParaPro and language skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Must be highly qualified per US DoE and Florida Differentiated Accountability Model.
• One year of experience in education, child care, or related field.
• Fluency in English and the appropriate heritage language required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in program compliance monitoring (ELLs, FTE, FLDOE, USDOE).
• Administer tests in heritage language or English under supervision.
• Work with small groups following teacher-developed lesson plans.
• Maintain required program records with ELL Committee Chair, FTE Administrator, ESOL Resource Teacher.
• Provide accommodations to curriculum and assessments under supervision.
• Translate home/school communication for parents.
• Introduce parents to program personnel and services at school.
• Support Parent Leadership Council and District Advisory Council.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
