Job summary

Hillsborough County Public Schools - Thompson Elementary, Ruskin, FL is seeking an Aide, Bilingual Spanish for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the supervision of the Supervisor for Programs for English Language Learners and the principal, you will assist with program compliance and provide comprehensible instruction for English language learners.

You will participate in meetings and trainings, help with FTE, FLDOE and USDOE monitoring, translate basic communications, and support parent

Qualifications

Highly Qualified Instructional Paraprofessionals criteria: associate degree or 60 credits or two years of college study or ParaPro score 457+
Reads and comprehends simple instructions, writes simple correspondence.
Mathematical skills: basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume, distance.
Reasoning: follows instructions, handles concrete variables.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Participates in meetings and trainings related to program maintenance and ELL instruction.
Assists in administering tests in heritage language or English under supervision.
Works with small groups using teacher-developed lesson plans.
Maintains program records with ELL Committee Chair and ESOL Resource Teacher.
Implements instructional resources and appropriate accommodations to curriculum and assessment materials.
Translates basic home/school communications to parents.
Works with PLC and District Advisory Council teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.
