Job summary

Royal School District is seeking a 6.0 hr. Elementary Para position (bilingual preferred) for approx 80 days at Royal City, WA. Starting mid-October, immediate start. Salary between $18.93 and $24.54 per 26-27 PSE – Salary Schedule.

The role involves assisting teachers with small group and individual instruction, classroom support, and ensuring student safety. Starting October, 6.0 hours per day, 8:30am–3:00pm. EOE.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• AA degree or 48-semester credits or 72-quarter credits from an institution of higher education, or have successfully passed the Washington State Academic Assessment Praxis II Para Pro Test (WASST).
• Dependable, trustworthy, experience working with children and adults, good time manager, initiative
• Bilingual Preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in providing small group and individual instruction.
• Assist teaching personnel in all areas of their work.
• Correct daily work assignments of students in all areas.
• Operate various pieces of equipment (copy machines, video equipment, typewriters, computers, recorders).
• Assist individual students in teacher-monitored classrooms.
• Assist teachers in monitoring individual student objectives.
• Provide for student safety.
• Provide activities and instruction for this and other students as planned by the teacher.
• Assist with maintaining discipline.
