Job summary

The International School of San Francisco is seeking a full-time Maternelle & Lower School Instructional Support Teacher to reinforce French and English instruction across the Lower School. This role combines classroom teaching, instructional support, and collaboration with bilingual teaching teams to ensure seamless learning.

You will support curriculum delivery, foster inclusive learning environments, and participate in faculty life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.
• Ability to teach effectively in both French and English is required.
• Demonstrated success in elementary classroom teaching.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction in French and English classrooms during planned and unplanned teacher absences.
• Deliver lessons that align with the school's curriculum and maintain continuity of learning.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth and well-being.
• Build positive relationships with students across grade levels and become a trusted member of the Lower School community.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, learning support staff, and administrators to ensure a seamless educational experience for students.
• Provide small-group or individualized instructional support when classroom coverage is not required.
• Support classroom management and reinforce school-wide expectations for student behavior.
• Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional learning, school events, and other community activities.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and administrators regarding student progress and classroom needs.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting the evolving instructional needs of the Lower School throughout the school year.
