Job summary

Vernon Hills High School in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking an Arabic-speaking EL Aide to support English Learner students across EL and content-area classes. The role reports to the EL Department Chair and operates as an Educational Support Professional—Direct Paraprofessional, under ESP bargaining.

The position runs 7:45am–3:45pm for 184 teacher attendance days. Qualifications include high school graduation or equivalent, IL substitute/paraprofessional license, and preferred Arabic bilingual

Qualifications

• Education level equivalent to high school graduation.
• Bilingual (Arabic) preferred.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist EL teachers in planning, executing, and assessing lessons.
• Assist EL students with coursework in content areas.
• Communicate students' needs and collaborate with EL staff.
• Supervise and support students in English and content-area classes.
• Assist with testing of EL students and perform admin duties.
