EHS Specialist – Position Overview
We are a global manufacturing company seeking a dynamic, detail‑oriented, and bilingual EHS Specialist to join our team. This full‑time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards of our organization. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of EHS regulations, be proficient in both English and another language, and possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor company EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, including SOPs, incident reports, and safety meeting minutes.
- Collaborate with management and staff to foster an environment of continuous EHS improvement.
- Respond to and investigate EHS incidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Stay up‑to‑date with the latest EHS trends and regulations, advising management on necessary changes and adaptations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS roles within the Manufacturing industry.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proficient in developing and implementing EHS training programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage and maintain SOPs and other safety documentation.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credentials preferred.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, with a focus on proactive prevention and improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EHS management systems.
