Job summary

arcoirisschool seeks a part-time Bilingual Educational Assistant to support teachers in delivering instructional activities. The role covers preparing materials, assisting with small-group instruction, and supervising students in lunch, recess, and extended-day programs to ensure a safe, orderly environment.

Work hours are 4 hours daily from 1:30 to 5:30 PM, September through June, with expectations to collaborate with staff and communicate effectively with families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual Spanish & English preferred.
• Understanding of child development principles and practices.
• Effective communication with colleagues and students.
• Ability to collect data and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Clear written and verbal communication; attention to detail.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Willingness to obtain a food handler’s card.

Responsibilities

• Assists Teacher in instructional delivery through preparation of materials and small-group work.
• Supervises students during lunch, recess, before/after school programs to maintain safety.
• Sets up work areas, displays, and distributes classroom supplies.
• Supports classroom management and reinforces rules and procedures.
• Occasionally assists with feeding needs and restroom assistance.
• Prepares, administers, and scores tests and assignments as directed.
• Maintains confidentiality and interacts with diverse families and staff.
• Performs clerical duties using basic office software and equipment.
