Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and coursework for Illinois cert.
• Licensure Requirements: Illinois State Board of Education license with bilingual endorsement for the taught grade.
• Knowledge, Abilities, and Skill: Modify instruction to meet student needs; collaborate with staff; communicate effectively with families.
• Skill in teaching practices, strong oral and written communication, professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons aligned with standards and instructional program.
• Administer tests and language assessments to evaluate language ability.
• Assess student progress and set bilingual program goals; adapt instruction accordingly.
• Maintain attendance records and track student achievements.
• Apply modern teaching methods and develop new techniques.
• Promote attendance and anti-vandalism initiatives; uphold discipline codes.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and counsel students on progress.
