Job summary

Mount Vernon School District is seeking a Dual Language Middle School Principal for LaVenture Middle School in Mount Vernon, WA. The role leads a Spanish–English dual language program, advancing bilingualism, biliteracy, and academic achievement in a diverse adolescent learner population.

The Principal provides instructional and operational leadership, equity-centered decision making, and fosters a safe, inclusive culture with strong school-family-community collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required; proficiency verified through testing.
• Master’s degree in educational administration or related field is required.
• Washington State principal certification is required.
• Minimum of three years of successful certificated teaching experience at the secondary level.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the school, including instructional programs, operations, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and facilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor the School Improvement Plan aligned to district priorities and strategic goals.
• Supervise, support, and evaluate staff in accordance with district procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
• Promote bilingualism and the dual language model across content areas in English and Spanish.
• Build and sustain collaborative relationships with students, families, and communities to support student success.
