Job summary

African American Planning Commission in Bronx, NY is seeking a driver responsible for safe, efficient transportation and passenger safety. The role requires a valid NY driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving experience, and adherence to traffic laws while performing related support tasks.

The position reports to Supervisors of Family Safety and involves daily vehicle checks, maintenance coordination, and completing required documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a driver.
• Valid New York State driver’s license free of outstanding violations.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicles safely and arrives at destinations using the most efficient routes.
• Ensures all passengers wear seat belts and appropriate child/booster seats.
• Maintains vehicle condition and completes required paperwork (logs, route sheets, petty cash).
• Follows traffic laws and agency directives; reports violations or license issues promptly.
