We are seeking a compassionate and energetic DSP (Direct Support Professional) - HCBS (Home and Community-Based Services) to empower individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support that promotes safety, well-being, and community engagement. Your dedication will help clients achieve their goals through meaningful interactions, skill development, and assistance with daily activities. Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings, ensuring safety and promoting independence.
Support behavioral health needs by implementing behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques to foster positive behavior.
Facilitate social engagement activities that enhance communication skills, social interactions, and community participation.
Maintain detailed documentation of support provided, client progress, incidents, and daily activities in compliance with agency policies.
Respond promptly to client needs during emergencies or health concerns by following first aid and CPR protocols.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other service providers to coordinate care plans tailored to individual goals.
Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or cognitive disabilities is highly preferred.
Background in special education or behavioral health supports is advantageous.
Prior home & community care experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities is desirable.
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members.
High School Diploma, GED, or Degree Required
Work is conducted in the community or home of the youth being serviced.
