Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both home and community settings.

The role focuses on empowering individuals, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety, dignity, and overall well-being while collaborating with a compassionate team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation
• Implement individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities
• Provide reliable transportation as needed
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies
