Job summary

Pima County Superior Court seeks a Credentialed Court Interpreter to provide Spanish-English interpretation across Superior, Juvenile, and Justice Courts. The role covers simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation in hearings and related proceedings.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and two years of professional interpreting/translation experience, plus ACICP Tier 3/4 credentials and a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and two years of professional interpreting/translation experience in Spanish/English or English/Spanish.
  • Tier 3 or Tier 4 ACICP credential required.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets in consecutive and simultaneous modes English/Spanish and Spanish/English in hearings and proceedings for Superior, Juvenile, and Justice Court.
  • Performs case-related and law-related research to prepare for in-court interpreting appearances.
  • Conducts sight translations of court documents.
  • Translates court orders, notices, petitions, and legal documents; proofs translations for accuracy.
