Job summary

City of Saint Paul’s Saint Paul Public Library seeks a bilingual Spanish-speaking Community Specialist to build trusted relationships, expand access to resources, and create welcoming spaces for families and individuals in our diverse city. A three-year grant-funded, full-time role with a language premium upon proficiency test.

Ideal candidates have community engagement experience, comfort with immigrant communities, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with strong writing and speaking skills.
• Experience engaging diverse communities and immigrant/refugee contexts.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bilingual programs in English and Spanish to support literacy, digital skills, and lifelong learning.
• Collaborate with community partners; provide translation and interpretation as needed.
• Strengthen connections with Spanish-speaking communities and ensure inclusive services.
• Host Spanish story times, lead digital literacy classes, and share library resources.
• Coordinate programs across locations and advise staff on community needs.
