Job summary

Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas in Salinas, CA is seeking a program assistant to implement the farmworker Health and Family Program for migrant and seasonal workers. You will work under the Outreach Director and management to coordinate health services.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, strong teamwork, confidentiality, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinic environment. Training and compliance with CPR/BLS and safety standards are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, or related field.
• Minimum one year of public-facing work experience.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide translation between languages as needed.
• Attend meetings to learn available social services and share with farm workers.
• Develop simple English/Spanish surveys to assess needs.
• Provide referrals and follow up for medical and social services.
• Prepare health education presentations on hypertension, diabetes, TB, and pesticide exposure.
• Map migrant housing areas served by CSVS and document outreach statistics.
• Assist farm workers by coordinating schedules and sharing health information.
