Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, patient transport, specimen handling, and inventory management, and you may cross-train as a Hospital Unit Secretary.

Required to work in a team, prioritize demands, and participate in performance improvement activities such as chart audits. An active CA CNA license is required.

Qualifications

• Active California CNA license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• One (1+) or more years of CNA experience in an acute care setting.
• Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Perform uncomplicated technical procedures and transport patients, specimens, and blood products.
• Support inventory management and equipment usage; cross-train to Hospital Unit Secretary role.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits.
• Work in a collaborative team environment and assist administrative functions of the unit.
