Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non-profit treatment provider headquartered in New Britain, with seven locations throughout the city and in Waterbury. We partner with clients and the community to promote recovery from mental illness and substance use, treating more than 7,500 adults and children each year. CMHA is seeking a full-time Clinician (40 hours/week) based in New Britain, CT, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

Compensation: The annual salary starts at $57,000. Compensation is determined based on experience, education, skills, and internal pay equity, considering benefits and paid time off to ensure competitiveness.

Sign-on Bonus: A $5,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments after 6 months and 1 year of employment.

Position Summary: Serve as a key member of the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) team, providing treatment for youth/young adults and parents with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Services include screening, brief counseling, MDFT, Medication Assisted Treatment, case management, recovery support, and prevention groups. Provide services in-home or in-office, coordinating with other services, and documenting as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain recovery-oriented therapeutic relationships through assessment, individual and group therapy, both onsite and in the community.
  • Maintain required training and certifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, team members, and supports to develop treatment plans.
  • Manage emergency and crisis situations.
  • Follow mandated reporting laws.
  • Complete assessments, establish diagnoses, and analyze data within designated timeframes.
  • Complete documentation timely and according to policies.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards including state, federal, Joint Commission, DCF, and DMHAS.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health (psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or alcohol and drug counseling).
  • Clinician I must be license eligible.
  • Clinician II must hold a CT license as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Ph.D.
  • Valid DMV license.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
