Job summary

Wheeler Clinic in Bristol, CT seeks a Clinician to support, train, assess, and coordinate services for therapeutic foster families. The role involves joining a clinical team to promote placement stability and care coordination for children and families in diverse settings.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, 1+ year of relevant experience, and licensure eligibility or holding LPCA/LMFTA/LPC/LMFT/psychologist credentials.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related field required.
• At least 1 year of experience delivering behavioral health services to children, adolescents and families.
• Foster care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and behavioral health concerns; triages emergencies and adheres to safety protocols.
• Communicates effectively with children, foster and biological families, and providers.
• Attends meetings with foster care staff, providers, and families.
• Supports foster families to care for children placed in their homes.
• Monitors foster parent compliance and assists families in meeting requirements.
• Performs home studies and assessments for prospective/current families.
