• Appropriate clinical degree and current professional license or credential applicable to the position and scope of services.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Strong knowledge of behavioral health services and community-based care.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and other commonly used clinical/administrative systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction, supervision, consultation, and support to PA clinicians.
• Provide feedback to clinicians regarding clinical interventions, treatment approaches, service delivery, and participant needs.
• Review clinician progress notes and provide timely feedback to improve the quality, accuracy, and compliance of documentation.
• Ensure progress notes meet applicable Medicaid, State, Federal, HCBS-AMH, and organizational requirements.
• Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency with participant service plans.
• Assist clinicians with complex participant situations and clinical problem-solving.
• Support clinicians in developing effective, person-centered interventions.
• Monitor clinician performance and provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and professional development.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual employee performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Oversee compliance with HCBS-AMH legal policies, program guidelines, requirements, and standards of care.
• Assist with the development, review, and updating of program policies and procedures to support compliance.
• Ensure clinicians remain current with required training and program updates.
• Assist with the development and updating of training materials for PA clinicians.
• Participate in Quality Management (QM) activities and assist with identifying and correcting documentation deficiencies.
• Monitor documentation and service delivery for compliance with applicable Medicaid regulations.
• Assist with resolving overlapping services, documentation discrepancies, and other compliance concerns.
• Complete and/or contribute to HCBS-AMH quarterly and annual reports as required.
• Participate in Utilization Management (UM) activities to ensure services are delivered at appropriate frequencies and within approved requirements.
• Monitor frequency and utilization of services and identify potential discrepancies or concerns.
• Assist with resolving issues related to authorized units, service dates, overlapping services, and other utilization concerns.
• Review participant service information and collaborate with clinicians and administrators to address service-delivery issues.
• Coordinate the assignment of participants to clinician caseloads in collaboration with the Program Administrator.
• Attend initial and subsequent IDT/IRP meetings and participate in required updates.
• Review IRPs for accurate and clinically appropriate information.
• Track IRP expiration dates and ensure timely updates and submissions.
• Follow up on IRP submissions and approvals.
• Assist clinicians in resolving IRP issues, including units, dates, technical issues, and other concerns.
• Track participant notable dates, CIR submissions, and required follow-ups.
• Coordinate with RM/RME staff, HHSC, hospital social workers, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support participant needs and continuity of care.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new clinical staff.
• Assist with orientation to HCBS-AMH program requirements, clinical expectations, documentation standards, and organizational policies.
• Ensure clinicians understand applicable compliance, documentation, and service-delivery requirements.
• Support ongoing professional development and training initiatives.
• Assist with assigning 8x8 phone numbers, laptops, and other required equipment or supplies to new staff as needed.
• Verify clinician timesheets as needed for payroll processing.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical and administrative records.
• Assist leadership with audits, quality reviews, program reports, and corrective action activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of participant, employee, and organizational information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
