Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support childhood obesity prevention research in the INNOVATE lab at the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition Equity. The role includes a randomized controlled trial evaluating a pediatric health behavior intervention delivered via telehealth.

You will recruit, enroll, consent participants, schedule activities, and conduct surveys in English and Spanish, with on-site visits at 125 Nashua Street, Boston, MA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science required.
  • Experience in lieu of degree considered (Yes).
  • Six-month grace period (up to 1 year per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, evaluate, and consent patients for studies.
  • Schedule study visits and collect data from participants.
  • Conduct baseline and follow-up surveys in English and Spanish via phone/email.
  • Enter study data into REDCap databases and maintain study records.
  • Assist with regulatory binders, QA/QC procedures, and study submissions.
  • Document patient visits and procedures, and prepare data for analysis.
  • Support study operations under the Senior Project Manager.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will support childhood obesity prevention research in the INNOVATE lab at the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition Equity at Mass General for Children, including a randomized controlled trial (RCT) that seeks to evaluate if a pediatric intensive health behavioral and lifestyle treatment (IHLBT) intervention reduces BMI and improves asthma outcomes when delivered via telehealth.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will be primarily responsible for completing participant recruitment, enrollment, and consent, study activity scheduling, and conducting baseline and follow-up surveys in English and Spanish via telephone and email as well as some in-person visits on site at MGH. They will be responsible for entering study data into REDCap databases and assisting with other study operations. The Clinical Research Coordinator will report to the Senior Project Manager.

Summary

Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
  • Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
  • Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews.
  • Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
  • Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
  • Documents patient visits and procedures.
  • Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
  • Assists with interviewing study subjects.
  • Assists with study regulator submissions.
