The role involves assisting with lesson plans, preparing materials, setting up centers, supervising students, and supporting teachers during planning periods and staff development. A High School Diploma and 48 college credits are required, with virtual experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required; and 48 college credits hours required.
• One year virtual learning technology, remote instruction platforms, LMS, and video conferencing tools experience if assigned to Virtual Academy.

Responsibilities

• Serves in a substitute capacity for an absent teacher(s) following lesson plans and reinforces instruction.
• Discusses with teachers what happened during their absence and extends lesson plans as needed.
• Continues instruction and supervises students to provide relief time for planning periods and activities.
• Assists teachers in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional lessons and materials.
• Works with teachers/students on special projects/assignments.
• Prepares instructional materials such as posters, charts, transparencies, game boards/cards.
• Sets up learning centers and assists students having difficulties.
• Attends and participates in staff development activities.
