Job summary

MCHAP is seeking a Part-Time Chaplain in Asheville, NC. This role requires bilingual Spanish proficiency and serves employees and families with spiritual care across various settings, including hospitals, homes, and community sites.

Responsibilities include visiting worksites weekly, providing confidential pastoral support, coordinating funerals and bereavement care, and working within an interdisciplinary team to meet employees’ life and spiritual needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in an interfaith setting and with diverse groups.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills with clients and families.
• Spanish language proficiency required for Spanish-speaking employees.
• Christian ministry background and biblical understanding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document sensitive issues.

Responsibilities

• Visits to company worksites on a regular basis to support employees and families.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions and spiritual support.
• Assist in planning and attending funerals and grief support activities.
• Make jail visits and coordinate bereavement and crisis response as needed.
• Coordinate with executive leadership and EDO on additional duties.
• Provide referrals for specialized assistance and maintain records with care.
