Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties is seeking a WNA/Breastfeeding Peer Counselor in Santa Ana, CA. The role focuses on promoting breastfeeding, supporting WIC services, and serving as a community resource for health, social, and related services.

The position emphasizes collaboration with WIC teams, providing education, documentation, and referrals, while leveraging bilingual English/Spanish communication to reach diverse families.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Knowledge of WIC program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide breastfeeding guidance and education on-site, by phone, or virtually as scheduled.
• Complete and document height/weight measurements and dietary info for WIC clients.
• Assist in prenatal, infant, and child enrollments and follow-ups as needed.
• Refer clients to IBCLC, WIC nutritionist, or breastfeeding coordinator as appropriate.
• Attend trainings and contribute to class delivery and community outreach.
