Job summary

REACHING BEYOND LIMITS is seeking an enthusiastic Behavioral Specialist Consultant to support adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. You will implement ABA strategies, assess needs, and work under a BCBA to drive positive life outcomes, independence, and improved social skills.

The role offers ongoing training, mentorship, and opportunities to advance in ABA, with a team that values collaboration, respect, and continuous learning. Salary $32-$35 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Human Services or Psychology or related field.
  • Experience with individuals with Autism/Intellectual Disabilities preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ABA strategies for adults with autism and dual diagnoses.
  • Administer individualized, evidence-based programs to improve social functioning and communication.
  • Develop interventions, functional behavior assessments, and behavior plans for clients and families.
  • Create training materials for staff and clients with challenging behaviors.
  • Develop an individualized communication system for nonverbal individuals.
  • Conduct workshops and training on ABA therapy to staff and clients.
  • Provide behavior therapy in home, day programs, workplace, schools, and communities.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate families.
  • Engage in bi-monthly supervision groups with BCBAs.
  • Maintain reliable transportation for work-related appointments.

Job Overview

We are looking for an enthused and passionate professional committed to improving the lives of individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. The candidate will be independently motivated to provide excellent service and effectively communicate with team and supervisor, liaising with Direct Support Professionals, Caregivers, and the Supports Coordination Unit to support individual client goals.

As a Behavior Specialist Consultant, you will play a hands‑on role in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism in building life skills, communicating, engaging socially, and learning strategies to manage their behavior. Guided by a Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will use evidence‑based practices to create positive change.

Salary: $32 - $35 per hour

Essential Job Duties
  • Develop and implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies for adults with autism and dual diagnoses.
  • Administer individualized, evidence‑based programs and services for clients displaying challenging problem behaviors to improve social functioning, communication, and quality of life.
  • Assist in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments, ABA tools, and behavior plans to provide a safe and effective educational environment for clients and their families or caregivers with challenging behaviors.
  • Assist in developing training materials for staff and clients with challenging behaviors.
  • Develop and implement an individualized and effective communication system for nonverbal individuals.
  • Conduct workshops, training, in‑service presentations, and other activities on ABA therapy and related topics to develop skills and establish effective relationships with behaviorally or emotionally challenged clients.
  • Provide behavior therapy in many different environments, including home, day programs, workplace, schools, communities, and others.
  • Flex your schedule to accommodate working families who may not be able to meet during regular business hours.
  • Engage in bi‑monthly supervision groups with Board‑Certified Behavior Analysts.
  • Maintain reliable transportation and a willingness to use your vehicle for work‑related appointments.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance.
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities is preferred.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
