Amtex Insurance & Constitution General Agency LLC is seeking a dependable Underwriter to review and service personal auto policies, assist agents and customers, and process policy changes. You will monitor underwriting exceptions and ensure compliance with guidelines while handling a high volume of calls and tasks.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of identifying underwriting issues that require follow-up or escalation.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in personal auto insurance or underwriting preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Review new business, renewal, and endorsement exception reports and address outstanding items.
• Review renewal lists and claims renewal reports/spreadsheets.
• Complete underwriting audits and maintain audit tracking.
• Clear suspense items/flags and communicate with agents for missing information.
• Handle cancellation and exclusion calls per guidelines.
• Assist with NSF and payment-related questions; process customer payments when appropriate.
• Respond to calls from agents and policyholders regarding underwriting and policy questions.
• Process endorsements within underwriting authority and guidelines.
• Escalate risks or transactions outside authority to supervisor.
• Maintain documentation of policy activity and follow-up actions.
