Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks an Assistant Educator to support La Jornada students in Merrifield, VA. You will assist teachers, help implement lessons, and monitor child progress in a nurturing setting.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish fluency, an associate degree in education or ECE, and at least 2 years of classroom experience. Local travel may be needed; benefits include healthcare and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in education and/or early childhood education.
• Valid ECE certification preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional in a classroom.
• Fluency in Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing lesson plans based on state requirements and student needs.
• Collaborate with Lead Educator to monitor and support academic progress.
• Deliver daily lesson plans and assist in classroom management when the teacher is absent.
• Work with individual children to promote learning and development.
