Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Hammond, Indiana is seeking a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teacher responsible for the academic, social, and emotional growth of students. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in education, possess an Indiana educator’s license, and be fluent in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities include developing and implementing the Dual Language Curriculum and providing instruction in core content areas using the target language. Candidates who have an ENL/ESL Endorsement are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess demonstrated oral and written fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Experience in second language acquisition or bilingual education is preferable.
• SIOP and WIDA Trained are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement Dual Language Curriculum.
• Provide individualized and group language instruction.
• Evaluate and keep records of student grades.

Skills

Advanced written and oral proficiency in English and Spanish

Ability to teach content in Spanish

Collaboration with culturally diverse individuals

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education
