Job summary

Bike to the Beach for Autism is seeking an Event Coordinator to orchestrate cycling events in Washington, DC, and Maryland. This role requires someone energetic to help with logistics and execution of charity cycling events scheduled for July, September, and October.

Ideal candidates will have prior event experience and excellent organizational skills. The job entails working 4 days per event, interacting with participants, and may involve driving and lifting of materials. A vibrant, inclusive work environment is offered along with various perks.

Bike to the Beach Event Coordinator DC/MD

Bike to the Beach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates a supportive network for the autism and disabilities community through collaborative partnerships. As the Nation’s largest charity cycling series, we host events in eight major markets nationwide and raised over $2 million in 2022.

We are looking for an energetic Event Coordinator to help execute our remaining charity cycling events in July, September, and October. You will work with existing event staff to plan, organize, and run 100‑mile, 50‑mile, and 25‑mile cycling events.

Key dates and locations:
• Washington, DC/Maryland (DC/Baltimore to Dewey Beach, DE): July 29, 2022
• New England (Boston to Newport, RI): September 17, 2022
• New York (NYC to Smith Point, LI): September 24, 2022
• Houston (Houston to Galveston, TX): October 15, 2022

Position Requirements

• Availability to work 4 days (Wednesday – Saturday) for each event.
• Prior event experience, especially endurance events, is a plus.
• Guest‑focused mindset and strong teamwork.

• Ability to develop, plan, and implement goals and make procedural decisions and judgments.
• First aid certification is a plus.
• Valid and up‑to‑date driver’s license; comfortable driving a van or truck.

Movement

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing ≤25 pounds without assistance, including tables, coolers, and chairs. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Driving Skills

Valid driver’s license. Comfortable driving a van or truck, including driving over bridges and other roadways.
