Big Lick Veterinary Services in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team. You will support the veterinarian during outpatient exams and help ensure high-quality care for every patient.
We value teamwork, clear client communication, and a positive, respectful environment. Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm, with a four-day per week schedule and about 10 hours per day; compensation varies with experience.

The Veterinary Assistant provides essential support to the veterinarian during outpatient exams and throughout the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They care for all patients, assist with medical procedures, and help ensure each patient receives high‑quality, compassionate care. In this role, the Veterinary Assistant also serves as a key connection between the veterinarian and clients. Through exceptional service and communication, the Veterinary Assistant helps build trust and foster lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Veterinary – 1 Year (Preferred)
Schedule: Four days per week Monday‑Friday, approximately 10 hours per day. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available for scheduling during all hours the practice is open to support hospital operations.
